Being an illustrator, my initial response to a self portrait project was to being with a drawing. Through this idea I recognized my instinct to draw out three features as being a minimal recognizable face. I then experimented by cutting these features out of a print of a photograph of myself, and investigating from there. I was mostly drawn to the eyes and how the placement and materials almost changed their character.
